Bartlett Right Almost All The Way

I don't know Bruce Bartlett well. His resume doesn't put him in places I'm comfortable with - Reagan, Bush Sr, but I absolutely agree with ALMOST every single word of this article. People who know me have essentially heard this article practically verbatim for a while now.

I disagree that Obama would make a good VP for Hillary. It's just asking too much of this racist, sexist, backwards-assed country to elect a woman and an African American in the same year.

My wish for Hillary's VP is Bill Nelson. Help deliver Florida.

- Edit -

To elaborate on why Obama shouldn't be anyone's VP. Vice Presidents are always forced to run on the record of their predecessor. Obama is too fresh, too new, too many other things that Biden should've said instead of what he did. The man (Obama) needs to have his own platform, not run on someone elses.

Al Gore is forever thought of not as Al Gore, but as Bill Clinton's bastard stepchild. I agree - Obama will make a huge mistake if he runs as Hillary's trained monkey in 2008. No one can compete for the spotlight on stage with an ego as large as Hillary's, and as her veep, common courtesy says he's not supposed to.

He'll lose his identity, his momentum and his mojo if he allows himself to be romanced into Camp Clinton as no. 2 on the ticket.

You gotta figure he's smart enough to stay the hell away from the Clintons... but the Clintons can be extremely charming when there's something on the table that they want.

This will be a test for Obama. If he signs on with Hillary, he gets an F, and he'll never graduate.

Cheers

Agree 100%

I would add tho that Al Gore didn't have it EXCEPT for his affiliation with Bill Clinton which he threw away.

Obama on the other hand is a force unto himself. Let's just hope he can keep his dick in his pants :).
